Upcoming Lay Carmelite Informational Meetings
Did you know it’s possible for laypeople to belong to one of several of the Church’s orders? If you believe that you are particularly drawn to a life of prayer, it’s possible that you may have a vocation as a Third Order, or Lay, Carmelite. The Order of Carmel traces its roots back to the thirteenth century, when hermits living on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land followed the examples of the prophet Elijah and the Blessed Virgin Mary and dedicated their lives to prayer, community, and service.
To learn more, please come the Morning Star Lay Carmelite Community’s informational meeting on Monday, November 8, from 7-8pm. We will meet in the St. Kateri Room at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 8755 Scarborough Drive. We will explain who we are and what we do, expectations and requirements, and the formation process. If you have questions, please contact
Sue Athey (719-265-6999). You can also visit the Lay Carmelites of Colorado
website. Check us out!
Would you like a closer relationship with our Triune God?
With focus on the Rosary the
‘To Jesus Through Mary (TJTM) Ministry’ members choose 1 or more of 4 ways to help Our Lady save souls and achieve peace. In spreading the message and remedies of Blessed Virgin Mary, God’s daughter, spouse, mother, and dispenser of graces, we draw close to God. The TJTM team meets once a month to discuss, decide, and chart the course for achieving our goal. For more information, contact Elsie Coyne at
